This course prepares participants to enhance their competence in understanding and handling dangerous goods in accordance with applicable safety standards and regulations. The training provides the knowledge and practical skills necessary to support professional excellence and competitiveness, while preparing a competent workforce for the aviation, logistics, cargo, warehousing, manufacturing, and related sectors.

Upon completion of Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) Training participants will be able to:

1. Understand the basic principles, regulations, and safety philosophy of Dangerous Goods air transportation, including the implementation of the Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) and applicable national requirements.
2. Identify, classify, and interpret the Dangerous Goods List, including hazard characteristics, categories, and transportation limitations in accordance with aviation regulations.
3. Understand shipper’s general requirements and Dangerous Goods preparation processes, including packing requirements, packing instructions, labeling, and marking procedures.
4. Apply acceptance, documentation review, storage, and loading procedures for Dangerous Goods, including verification of Shipper’s Declaration, pilot notification requirements, and recognition of undeclared Dangerous Goods.
5. Understand safety measures and emergency procedures related to Dangerous Goods, including provisions for passengers and crew to ensure safe and compliant flight operations.
