This course Preparing participants with the essential skills and knowledge to support safe helicopter operations, apply aviation safety procedures, and perform Helicopter Landing Officer duties according to industry standards.

Upon completion of Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) Training participants will be able to:

1. Understand the fundamentals of helicopter and heliport operations, including understanding of helicopters, supporting infrastructure, and the duties and responsibilities of a Helicopter Landing Officer in aviation activities.
2. Implement aviation safety standards and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) principles as appropriate, in accordance with applicable regulations, to facilitate safe and efficient helicopter operations.
3. Perform Helicopter Landing Officer duties include landing area management, flight communications, passenger handling, baggage and cargo handling, and safe helicopter refueling procedures.
4. “Emergency Procedures” means responding to emergency situations during helicopter operations, including application of emergency response plans, firefighting protocols, and initial actions during emergency conditions.
5. Learn about heliport management and aviation regulations and requirements for heliport operations, such as facility management, operational standards and safety
